Interesting McCain Speech May 16, 2008

Frankly, I liked most of it. He sets goals that mostly seem decently achievable, and some of the promises, such as earmark vetoing, I believe he’d be pretty strict on following through with. However, some people have their bones to pick with the speech. Jules thinks it was cheesy. I can’t disagree with that assessment, even if the contents of the speech were good. Michelle is pointing out that McCain is taking steps to reach out to liberal bloggers while ignoring many of the conservative bloggers. That too seems a pretty valid complaint – although I would point out that she’s not the only conservative blogger, although McCain could probably reduce the hostility he gets from her (and a considerable portion of the right wing blogosphere) if he addressed her concerns…
