SpaceX Knows The Problem, And Will Launch Again Soon August 7, 2008

Perhaps even as soon as next month. They have two rockets that are near ready to launch.
It turns out the issue was a simple matter of a couple of seconds: Their new engine produces more thrust, but also shuts down a little slower. When the stages seperated, it burned a little bit longer, bumping the second stage. Delaying the seperation by as little as a second or two would have solved this problem. Transterrestrial has further musings.
