For people with bad gums, such as myself. I don’t need gum grafting yet, but my dentists have been nervous about my gums for pretty much my whole adult life…

Where’s the rest of your post? I’m curious about what you’re going to do about your gums. For a real-life perspective on what can happen when you ignore your mouth, see my blog at cathydemarco.wordpress.com. I’ve already written checks totaling over $20,000 and I have yet to get my permanent teeth. Don’t ignore your dental health.
Right now my situation is pretty stable, albeit not as good as I would wish. The dentists say that because of my bad gums I just need to be extra careful in cleaning my teeth every day, and that about once every two years I need to go in for a deep roots cleaning of my teeth. Painful, but at least they think that if I do that then my situation shouldn’t deteriorate any. If I fail, then my situation would probably get pretty bad pretty quickly.
