Well, there will be some legal challenges, and it has to go back through the Senate, etc…but essentially it passed. You can see how people voted(and for reconciliation), here. Can it be repealed? Maybe, but probably not soon. Politics is slow, and also – how often have any entitlement programs been repealed? There are good reasons to be despondent over that idea. Yeah, we know. But it’s nice of them to admit it outright.
They’re preparing for bankruptcy. I don’t think that will be the end of them though.
Even though the Democrats aren’t the only ones to have used Deem and pass sort of rules (and for the record I don’t like Republicans doing it either) the Slaughter rule goes farther than any other similar bill has in doing this.
And Democrats plan to use it for other legislation they like if it succeeds.
And the state is facing budget shortfalls because of it.
But of course it will work on a national level, right?
According to them. They’re not the only ones.
It’s the main thing that has stopped those on the spot from doing anything about radical Islamists.
Of course, you can trace it back longer than that. Media attitudes about Communism, Socialism, and other Fascism, attitudes very much related to the political correctness ideas of today, have some large share of responsibility in the deaths that followed our pullout of Vietnam, for example.
