The latest video from Reason.

Definitely worth reviewing for the history.

When the media calls it that they do a great disservice to history. It was not an age of religious freedom and tolerance by any standards we would consider in modern society.

Liberals are just as committed to fairness as their Labor counterparts but understand more readily that holding people back can be just as unfair as not giving them a start. Liberals are just as committed to effective government but appreciate better that too much government can be as bad as too little.

Venezuela is a more dangerous place to be than Iraq.

Come to think of it, Detroit and Washington D.C. were more dangerous most of the time, as well.

It’s the modern world, internet and all. It’s about time we found something a bit more collaborative than peer-reviewed science journals that only accept editor-approved articles and responses.

A group of guys who’s previous project was to build themselves a submarine are now building rockets that they intend to launch themselves into space with. Their first launch (with a crash test dummy) is going to be in the next few days.

Best of luck!

The fact that guys essentially getting together and working in their backyard can do this type of thing but NASA still spends billions of dollars to put anything into space exactly highlights my libertarian leanings.

One British law firm has plenty of women – but they choose lower pay for more time off.

Now apply that to the economy and jobs as a whole.

It’s an interesting question.

It just might be possible. The technique at least seems to cure liver cancer.

Here’s hoping…

At least in monkeys. Now they need to figure out how it works, so we can do the same in humans.

This Was About My Take As Well

On the news that the National Association of Broadcasters and the RIAA were trying to get FM radios mandated in cell phones: Dying Industry Tries To Regulate Itself Back Into Your Life.

A middle east arms race. Egypt and Sudan have just announced that they need to seek nuclear technology as well.

Tips Worth Knowing

About bedbugs.

Not the fault of the Iraq war. Here’s the chart that proves it.

The Russians stripped all the officials of their personal belongings. And the Air Traffic Controller in charge that day has disappeared.

And here’s the graph that proves it.

The only ones who insist we don’t have enough money are the Teacher’s Unions who are gorging themselves off the public, and the Democrats whom they support.

And basically shifts its assets to a new crony bank. What’s noticeable here is that it’s yet another Democrat lauded organization that’s failed, and that they’re propping up.

Private business does more good for society than philanthropy. Which does more good than governmentand with a multiplying effect as taxes get lower .

Think about that next time you hear anyone talk about how “greedy” capitalism is, or how it’s “selfish” to want lower taxes or regulations on small businesses or the wealthy – as if taking people’s money by force somehow made them less selfish…

Obama knew the economic affects his drilling moratorium would have – before he called for it.

Economic Fascism

Those of you who think that the left is on the side of the little guy against big businesses, or who think that we’re not living in a classically fascist state should read up on the economic models of WW2 era Italy and Germany. Fascist governments ran on an economic model of strong (excessive) licensing and regulation, which inevitably would result in only large corporations able to comply, and smaller businesses, especially individuals, being shut down. And the stronger corporations would inevitably have close ties to government, helping them steer the creation of more regulations. Fascist government officials, meanwhile, would rail about how horrible big businesses were, and drum up public support for more regulation. It all resulted in power gravitating to the government at the top.

With that in mind, take a look at these stories of licensing and nanny-statism in recent news.

All of this is precisely why Libertarians call for a lighter government with less regulation and more private innovation.
