S&P warned the U.S. a few days back that they will downgrade the U.S.’  credit rating by 2013, if the mounting debt isn’t addressed. Even the mere statement hurts the economy – and here’s some more follow-up if you would like to understand what the statement means.

Unsurprisingly, Obama’s administration tried to stop the statement. It kind of destroys the Liberal story about everything being better if we just spend more and more, doesn’t it?

Nuclear Lies

400,000 will not die from Fukushima.

Maybe. The legislation just passed right-to-work.

One Japanese team is getting ready to do so. The trick is using ceramics for the laser’s hardware components.

After a man carrying an umbrella with a samurai sword handle was mistaken by someone as carrying a rifle. The whole mall was evacuated, while helicopters and swat teams were called in.

Pure stupidity and panic. By the way – my wife and I work across from the mall and got to witness all of this.

Now, how do you take the stupidity to the next level? The police are praising the alertness of the witness, and want the umbrella to be banned.

Yes, I know they managed to keep their funding. I just want to point out a few facts that are worth taking away:

It certainly looks like it. Oh, and both parties seem to have plenty to blame on this one.

I’m definitely libertarian on this issue. There’s no good reason for the Federal Government to care about online gambling, at least to anything near the extent that it does.

It’d be good if so. The past couple of years have been especially quiet in solar activity – giving us exceptionally cool weather. And the few years before that when environmentalists claimed the world was ending from global warming were also easy to explain with solar activity.

Roaring Inflation

By the old metric, inflation currently measures almost 10%. As Instapundit points out, it’s a good thing they changed the metric then, isn’t it? In all seriousness, Walmart expects “serious inflation” and quite a few others are finally noticing the inflation they mocked personas on the right for predicting. Here’s a list of some of the most common things that are rising in price – try to get by without them, if you can.

Oh, and just as an addendum: China is projected to be the number one oil consumer by 2018, and the whole corn to ethanol thing is making anything corn related rise in price faster than the rest of inflation.

If you didn’t see massive inflation coming with how our politicians were going through money and debt…and if you actually voted Democrat without thinking about what their massive spending plans would actually do to our economy, well then – this is partially your fault.

Obama’s cousin Odinga just won an election by getting all of his opponents turned over to courts.

Remember when the U.N. predicted there would be 50 million climate refugees by 2010? Well, they doesn’t want you to.

Putin has been wiping out all dissent in Russia – but most of America is choosing to let things go unnoticed.

Picking Sides

One side nakedly hates America and every principle we stand for, even to the highest levels of government. They can’t stand to allow anyone else to even talk, and will do their best to shut up and drown out even prayers. The other side behaves pretty much the exact opposite. And all those links are just recent news – I could dredge up example after example supporting all of this.

How does anyone who’s not a hard-core lefty even hesitate for a second to vote against them?

And I bet the rest of the anti-semites are outraged too.

Wonderful. It’s spending like this that I’ll be glad to reminisce on as I enjoy this debt for the rest of my life…

When we make our contribution to the U.N., we’re safer.

He’s proposing to reduce deficits over the course of the next 12 years by close to the same amount by which the debt rose in the first two years of his Presidency.

Oh, and of course he tried to blame Bush. It’s worth point out on that second graph that Democrats had control of the legislation during the last two years, when a decent amount of Bush’s spending occurred.

This Is Interesting

Concentrating light enough to get a magnetic affect – and generate solar power without any silicon?

In Texas, 70% of them are on welfare. And similar numbers exist for California and New York.

Researchers in England have shown that having a top earner income tax of 50% hurts the economy, and results in less income taken in by the government.

Oh, for reference, here in the U.S. we’ve got the most progressive income tax in the world. So don’t even think for a second that this doesn’t affect us. And government is once again running up a massive deficit it sure would be nice to see paid down.
