It’s always amazing to me to see the government vs. charity opinions of the left. I already knew that conservatives are more charitable than liberals, but it’s also interesting to see, from politics, that liberals are actively hostile to charities. Even though charities are demonstrably more effective than government, evidently the idea that people might voluntarily give to a cause not under some bureaucrat’s supervision, and in lieu of forcing everyone to give to some bureaucrat’s cause is anathema. Oh, and cause for berating for “selfishness”.
