Did you know that we’re currently undergoing an oil boom throughout most of the midwest?  Texas, Kansas, North Dakota, Pennsylvania…and the list goes on, except for blue states which have banned it. And the left is doing their best to stop it – because of a variety of reasons. They don’t like red states doing well, it breaks their narrative of peak oil, it points out the folly of how much drilling we’ve banned (while simultaneously considering tapping the strategic oil reserve and urging the Saudis to drill more to lower gas prices), it helps us become energy independent without cutting energy consumption…in fact, drill, drill, drill will make us the largest oil producer by 2017, and is probably going to make us energy independent within 10 years. But all of this is happening on private lands. Obama and Democrats have still halted drilling, and piping, everywhere else – to the profits of their cronies (and through forced military purchases), and the detriment of our economy, loss of jobs and rise of gas prices (while of course claiming otherwise), benefit of China and less ethical oil nations, leasing income our government could be receiving to lower our debt, no benefit to the environment, and the general welfare of everyone except for government bureaucrats. And instead they pipe money to crony “green” companies that inevitably fail, and privately claim they want higher energy prices.
