Bloomberg: It’s government’s job to educate citizens.
That’s why he’s trying to control them.
Piers Morgan: We all need some nanny state occasionally.
No, we don’t. Go live some place with a real big brother.

Yet more mother-knows-best meddling over the rest of society. I wonder if there are any health ramifications, like the deadly plastic bag ban in San Francisco?
Brookline is banning plastic bags and styrofoam. Both of which, by the way, can be more friendly for the environment than their alternatives.
And as Michael Graham points out, the kid is far more statistically likely to be abused by his teachers at school than he is to be abducted.
This.
The health effects of salt are still unclear, and reducing salt levels in our food causes us to increase our caloric intake. And yet the worst of the nanny-state meddlers still want us to mandate salt levels in food at the Federal level.
And in fact, the FDA isn’t the only group trying to regulate the salt in our lives. The EPA is trying to simultaneously regulate “perchlorates” (the stuff gets used in all sorts of industrial processes, including making rocket fuel, you know!) even while they naturally occur.
Michigan bar owners are banning state lawmakers from their bars, in protest of the lawmakers’ ban on smoking. Nice.
Another rabbit farmer gets a visit from the feds, thanks to an anonymous topline for animal abuse…
Making farmers get commercial licenses just to drive their tractors. Ways the next thing you’ll need federal approval for, riding mowers?
Ugh. If this holds up, I’ll bet that GPS tracking for tax purposes won’t be too far behind.
To the Democrats. Heck, if you’re not a Democratic Politician they think you’re still a child.
The Obama administration is moving to ban some 80% of knives.
If the left had their way we would all be eating local-sourced, organic tofu with sporks.
